These are the things that you need to know about Chris Jubic/Mulekist/Quarter Acre Rescue Ranch

After responding to Chris Jubic’s plees, months of them; other people donating money to her to do what she needed to for the horses, and reading the web site below, I decided to help.  I got Meadogate to agree to take the horses, somebody else to donate the shipping costs , and arranged to have them picked up.  Below is the link to the surrender.  Since then we have all dealt with the threats, the disruptions, the language, and the multiple petitions and websites and Yahoo boards to try to discredit us.  The problem now is that Chris Jubic is telling people that she is a rescue, and will take in horses.  She no longer has a farrier (please notice his letter below), and the one that she now gives as a reference has a number that is disconnected.  In addition, the vet she uses as a reference will not be working with her (stay tuned for more on that).  And her dog/cat vet will not work with her.  Should a woman with her obvious shortcomings be ‘rescuing’ horses?  Please spread the word about Chris Jubic/Mulekist/Quarter Acre Rescue Ranch.

Please pay attention to her words below, she is in bankruptcy, she can not care for the animals, they are standing in ‘muck’, she can’t afford hay, the fencing is made of sticks, a lawsuit that is going to drag through ’08 as well, goats that went to slaughter, mules that are missing, cats with terrible health issues, dogs with terrible health issues (not anti-freeze because he would have died by now!)…that should be enough.

You can go here (http://www.freewebs.com/unwantedhorsedisposal/bolognapage.htm) to see the rest of the ongoing bologna caused by Chris Jubic.  I have decided to put the words of the people who can’t seem to stick to the truth here …for all to see.  It clearly makes a difference in keeping some of them honest.  Nobody likes to see their own lies plastered on the internet.

IMMEDIATE HOMES NEEDED

URGENT! Placement needed immediately for the four (4) horses below. Financial
difficulties force us to seek new homes for all of our horses ASAP.
There is no more $$$ for hay or to care for them properly, and our pastures and
paddocks are a mess.  We had thought our five-year old lawsuit against
two thieving partners in another venture would have settled by now, but no such
luck. Looks like it is going to drag on through 2008 also. (See details
on our “Farm Giveaway” Page) We even had to file a Chapter 13
bankruptcy in the interm to save our home. Meanwhile, the horses
got to go immediately, for their own good.

We are hoping to turn
them over (surrender ownership) to a reputable rescue where they
will eventually be placed into good, permanent
loving homes.  This is a desperate suitation for the horses as we can
no longer afford to even buy their hay and the paddocks are a
mucky, muddy,manure-filled mess. <<
They are four GREAT horses whom we love dealry but naturally
want what is best for them, and that is to get the heck out of here!
Can you help? If not, maybe you know someone who can?
Time is of the essence. Thanks!

Meet MR. YUKON CORNELLIUS…. The “terrible gentleman”.

YUKON CORNELLIUS is a 19+ yr old Morgan gelding. Yukons previous owner loved
him dearly but circumstances forced her to surrender. Apparently, he wasent getting the
proper care at the stable where he was being borded @ $450.00 per MO. He came to us
half-starved and full of worms. We took care of the worms and put about 50lbs back on
him so far. naturally, being half-starved, Yukon does have “food aggression” issues that
we are currently working through & have noticed a BIG improvement in that department.
Yukon does have some trust issues, nothing serious but it is apparent he has been badly
handled at some point in his life, and he seems to prefer women. He is a “mush” once he
gets to know & trust you – though he is VERY jealous of other horses and wont let them
around when you are near! Its not just ‘all about food” with Yukon, he wants ALL  the
attention for himself,…poor thing, he is SO  emotionally needy, we think he would do
well by himself as an only horse. Seems like he could care less about being around other
horses….he likes people! Yukon is VERY responsive to kindness – soaks it all in! .
LOVES a good brushing, first at the gate to greet you,….and perfect ground manners.
Sound  and rides English (or western?) for advanced  beginner, as we are told he is “forward
going,” but we havent tried him yet. Just letting him be a horse for awhile while we fatten
him up some.

URGENT!

Meet:

DIAL KATHY’S CLOWN:

DIAL KATHYS CLOWN is a 5 yr old reg paint mare that was pulled out of a Pennsylvania
kill-pen for us by the good folks at AnotherChance4Horses and re-homed to us after we paid
the kill-buyer/owner’s ransom -so much a pound, same as he would have gotten if he had
bought her to slaughter. She is a small horse or a large pony, at 13.1 HH. This mare is a
sweetheart, we think imprinted at birth. Not a mean or ‘scared’ bone in her body. A real
“puppy dog” personality, wants to follow you around wherever you go….even into the
house! Poor Kathy is a special needs case because of an old bow in her rear pastern area.
Not lame but “rests” her bad leg a lot. She is a young horse and likes to run and play,
so she “blew her bow out” twice this spring while romping. Doc Barnes came down to
see her both times, and said, aside from stall rest, cold-packs, leg-wraps and a little bute,
there is nothing really to be done for an old bow like this. Ideally, he said, she should
have ultra-sound done to acertain the exact nature and extent of the damage. This is
something that we just cannot afford to have done at this time. Meanwhile, No vigiorus
riding or heavy riders. Shes greenbroke to ride but would be best suited for a backyard
pet and/or light lead-line rides for youngsters. Here is a link where you can see her
bloodlines; lots of TB even Man O’ War 8 generations back – but NO BREEDING!

Meet:

BANNER’S MISTY COMET;

BANNERS MISTY COMET is a beautiful registered appendix/QH mare out
of Sonny Dee Bar Sonny Go Lucky lines. Comet, 14yrs old, is a “sunburnt”
black and 15HH. She was professionally trained to saddle as a two year old,
but suffered a bow tendon in one rear foot many years ago, and has been used
almost exclusively as a brood mare eversince. Old bow dosent seem to bother
her at all. We found her on her way to meat-market auction when her owner/breeder
went out of business and no longer had any use for her. She does have some trust
issues, but once you have worked these out, she is a marshmellow! (She gives
kisses on command!) I am confident with the right person and some TLC, she
will come around to riding again. Ground manners are impeccible; she will stand
tied all day, and lounges BEAUTIFULLY, so easily you could use a thread-line
and she would never break it! If you enjoy working a horse from the ground,
Comet may be the horse for you! Comet was free-leased locally and when we
went to visit her recently, she was in such bad shape we had to get her out of
there. She came back seriously under-weight and “heevy” from moldy hay –
Heeves seem to be subsiding now that she has good hay.

Below  is a link where you can see her very impressive bloodlines:
Comet also has Man O’ War bloodlines about 8 generations back.
However, NO BREEDING,

FREE-LEASE or TEMPORARY FOSTER CARE are other options to approved homes. Give us a call, lets talk.

Meet:

MS. STONEY SANCHEZ (left)

MS. STONEY SANCHEZ is an 11 yr old double registered tri-colored paint
mare out of IMPRESSIVE & ZIPPO PINE BAR lines. “Chezy’ was also pulled
out of a PA kill-pen by the good folks at AnotherChance4Horses and re-homed
to us. Chezy  is shown here (on the left) with her best friend Dial Kathy’s Clown.
We are hoping these two can stay together where ever they go. Chezy came to
us “long in the toe” and Ole’ Doc Barnes took xrays and diagnosed Chezy with
“slight laminitis” on one front hoof, and declared that foot  “2.5”  lame at a trot.
Our “barefoot podiatry specialistis” has everything under control with regular
corrective trimming she be OK for light riding. Chezy is a ‘good broke” western
riding horse for “advanced beginner,” although she has not been ridden in awhile,
she is ready for some light riding but will need some refresher courses by an
experienced handler. Here is a link to Chezy’s impressive  pedigree; nevertheless,
NO BREEDING,

The page about her goats:

RICK & TAMMY AMIDON,  Rt. 67 Buskirk, NY – several years ago, we
adopted a pair of young Billy-goat brothers to these people, who SOLD them
immediately to slaughter….we did win a small claims judgment against them
in the Hoosic Falls Town Court,….but unfortunately, that dosent help the poor
goats. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE and DO NOT let them get
ahold of your animals!!! They are scammers out to make a buck off YOUR animals!

And Mules:

MULES MISSING
I’m sorry,… so sorry….
Last year we adopted out two mules to a couple from HARTFORD, NY, who
called themselves “LONG-EARRED EXPRESS”. The two individuals are
named GERTRUDE “Gerty” PANCUSHEK (aka Karen?) and her partner,
STEVEN WOODELL. They adopted the two mules under written contract
and we have just recently found out that THEY SOLD THEM! All attempts to
reach them have failed.  We are in the process of commencing a case against them
in the Hartford, NY small claims court, –  but will have to FIND them first! .

ANYONE knowing or having information about the whereabouts of these PEOPLE
or the MULES , please contact us. .

Below are some pics of the two mules.  “Honey” the mule’s name was changed to “Jolene.”
Honey is a chestnut molly mule (said to possibly be a “hinny.”) approximately 8yrs old
and stands about 14.2. Honey has a few ‘white-hair” scars around the pressure areas where
she was used in harness. I believe you can see one in the pic, on her right rear flank. She
also has one on the left at the base of her neck.   The other mule is a smaller buckskin
“quarter-type” pony-mule,  a gelding,  approx 12HH……his name was Danny, approximately
12 yrs old. . He had “bad feet” in front (pidgon-toed) and a cancerous (?) mole on his rump,
both were supposed to have been corrected by the adoptees, but we doubt this was done..

Below: Honey on left, Danny on right

PLEASE if you know anything we would greatly appreciate your sharing,…we
really just want the mules back, or at least, to know that they are safe in a good
home and stand no chance of being abused, neglected or sent to slaughter…..THANKS!

And cats and dogs:

We have three cats and one dog in need of immediate veneniary care that we sadly are
unable to provide for them right now. I have been on the phone with every vetenarian   <<
within 100 miles trying to find one “with a heart” that will allow us to set up an account
which would allow us to get these animals vetted and make monthly payments,…all to
no avail. They all want payment in full immediately.  So we are once again reaching out
to you, the other rescues, to help us do the right thing for these animals.

We are asking for help in getting these animals the proper care they need. We are not soliciting
for donations. Whether you have or know of a compassionate vet that will allow us to make
payments (we have good credit) or another way to go about it is to find a rescue that would  <<
“switch” animals with us, you take our sick ones and give us your healthy ones to foster care  <<
for you. You keep our animals until we pay-off the vet bill with you. Whatever it takes. There
must be a way if we all put our heads together. We have tried to give these animals in need
away to other rescues and all say THEY WOULD but they have no room. How about the
exchange arrangement as mentioned above? We take some of yours and you take these ones
we have that need immediate care. They are:

1. Bot Fly Kitty
This is the little “bugger” as seen on his own page of this website. He has been to the vet
THREE times alreaady and I am afraid his condition IS NOT getting any better and in fact
is worsening. The wound hole is still oozing brown stuff and it sounds as if it is working   <<
its way into his lungs. He is coughing and sneezing quite a bit now and there is a foul odor   <<
coming from his mouth. I am sure one of those things must have died in him and is rotting   <<
away inside him causing “secondary infection.” This is what I been telling the vet all along
that I was afraid of but she kept saying “wait and see.” . We still owe on the last bill for him also.

2. Big Eyes;
This is our older cat with peridontal problems. We have had him to the vet three times
also and some teeth were exracted but he is still having terrible trouble, and we STILL
OWE that vet! He has ulcerated bleeding gums and possibly some more bad teeth and   <<
is in pain all the time, sometimes worse than others, going into fits where he literally   <<!!
“crawls up the walls” in pain.. He is having a very difficult time eating and is loosing   <<
ground daily, losing weight and strength. He needs continued vet care that is impossible
for us to provide at this time. We are certain he is failing and will die soon without more
vet care. He  was a feral rescue but turned out to be one of the lovingest cats you will ever meet.

3. Puddy;
also Puddy was an abandond cat who was left behind when his owners
moved away. He always “wanted to be a TV star so here he is “on TV.”
Puddy (or Pudd-pudd) had peridontal problems and we took care of that
and are still payiing off the balance of the $350 it costs to fix his teeth.
He only has a few left (the canines) but eats well with what hes got. He
recently developed a problem with his ear. You can hear the “liquid”
splashing around in there and he is digging at it all the time. Ear infection,   <<
I think? He is otherwise healthy but needs to get to a vet ASAP for the ear..

4. Boy
is a is a king-dobie, at 27″ tall, was an owner surrender we have had for
about 6mos now. He came fully vetted with papers and all, but has
recently started to drool & to inermittently “shake.”. I thought he   <<
had been poisoned somehow as they are typical symptoms but that
was several days ago when he first started and I think if it were poison
he would be gone by now. Yesterday I noticed his jaw started to twitch   <<
so now I am thinking distemper. Parvo? Some nurologic problem?
He needs to get to a vet like, three days ago!   <<

Can anybody help in anyway to get these animals to a vet ASAP? We don’t
have any $$$ right this minute but we do have a regular income and can make
payments to whomever wants to help. We are NOT asking for something for
nothing,…just a little help for us to get them all vetted. It is breaking our hearts
having to watch them suffer and we WILL NOT drop them off at any kill-shelter.
We need help immediately and are reaching out (once again) to like-minded
orgs for it.  Any ideas? Appreciate it.

Meadowgate Equine Rescue:

Due to recent slanderous accusations by Quarter Acre Rescue Ranch, Meadowgate and it’s board members would like to make it perfectly clear that we are not “breeders” and never have been. If there are babies at our facility it is because they were rescued at that age or we rescued a pregnant mare. It is not and never has been our intentions to breed. Due to QARR’s owners misconstrued conception of Meadowgate we are providing a link that you may look at if you so desire.

New England Equine Rescue

This link has posted the “garbage” nonsense of QARR, however it also explains the truth of New England Equine Rescue and Meadowgate’s combined efforts to help QARR when they posted an SOS nationwide in which we both responded. This generous offer by NEER and Meadowgate to help, has turned into a slanderous fiasco in which we no longer will step forward in this manner to help others who claim to be equine rescues without first investigating their credibility regardless of their claimed financial distresses. This has also educated us in the fact that there are “rescues” out there who are not genuine rescues. I highly recommend before establishing any kind of relationship with equine rescues that their credibility is checked. Most reputable rescues will be a non profit 501(c)3 organization. Those that are not should be investigated by you so that you will know whether or not you want to be associated with them. There are always exceptions.

I highly urge you to be very careful in what internet groups you become part of. Groups that are formed to discuss “issues” and “causes”. Are these genuine problems or a figment of someone’s twisted mind? Beware of what and who has formed the group. Discernment is part of every day life. Learn to discern and protect yourself and your own interests by investigating.

Meadowgate is a registered non profit 501(c)3 organization that is committed to standing in the gap for those that cannot. We remove horses from suffering lifestyles and “make tears disappear”. We have high credentials and work right along side of several different county SPCA’s, Humane Society’s, and law enforcement at every level.

Meadowgate was checked out by Beth.  QARR on the other hand… doesn’t check out.  Initially AC4H offered to help her by taking two horses had found a shipper had the day set to pickup and had the fundraising for the shipping in pledges done – all but $100.00 which we would have covered….

Chris called it all off saying just a few days before stating Meadowgate would take all 4 horses.  I told her to check into the rescue check farrier, vet, PD, AC, and personal she puts out posts all across the internet…asking if anyone heard of them… then I check back and she said no one responded yet!!!!  Is this her version of checking things out?  No wonder her placements were a disaster and her mules missing – it takes a little effort not deligation!!!!  For all Chris knows they could have been kill buyers she checked them so thoroughly and… she actually even asked if I thought the kill buyer in NY would give a descent rate transporting her horses to AC4H.

When she was trying to post petition information that I didn’t agree with and didn’t want AC4H group – and how dirty/manure filled her pastures were and how sick her small animals were and how long they had been without vet care – I felt I didn’t want it on the AC4H group and Patricia nicely sent her an email saying we wouldn’t approve her posts she threatened Patricia…  that’s when I told Chris I wouldn’t work with her anymore – seriously on my last nerve… and I asked Beth if she could assist in finalizing and Beth did a phenominal job- better than I could have under the circumstances and believe me it wasn’t a piece of cake.

Bottom line…  QARR rambels with her version of what happened… we have had many people following the entire process who can validate that… she also doesn’t consider others people or the horses or even small animals for that matter or the ramifications of her actions which are damaging and for the most part non productive but a waste of space…  she still wants to ride her pony painted in red (she will now have to borrow one)  in DC and she is demanding that others do the same…yea ok!  I was in DCfor a professional buisness meeting and so were about 100 others.  Chris wasn’t there… hmmmm!   I also didn’t see anyone there screaming like a banchee on the steps with a pony painted red demanind horse slaughter end like Chris stated she wanted to do nor do I think it would help.  I would highly suggest when you see a post from her – Find the Delete key and use it.

Beth is phenominal …. she did an excellent job.  Thank you Beth.
